According to a Reuters report, India is currently strictly controlling the quality verification of electronic products imported from China, and the approval speed has been slowed down, affecting the import of Apple’s new iPhone and Xiaomi products.
Since August this year, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), which controls product quality, has begun to postpone the approval of electronic products such as smartphones, smart watches, and laptops from China. In the past, it only took about 15 days to pass the application, but now some take more than two months or more.
Relevant sources disclosed, including Wistron and Compal's factories in mainland China, and Hangzhou Hikvision equipment. The smart watch products of companies such as Xiaomi and OPPO have also been affected by the delay in BIS approval.
India bans Chinese apps for the fourth time
On November 24, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India issued an order prohibiting access to 43 apps, most of which are from China, including AliExpress, Taobao Live, and other products under Ali.
