CMA CGM, the world's fourth largest container transport company, has launched a series of products for the first time to help customers reduce their environmental footprint.
ACT CGM+ with CMA has four services. Two of them are fuel-related – CMA CGM provides services for transporting customer cargo on ships powered by LNG or biofuels.
Then there are two new surveillance and offset products. The Eco Monitor, which will be launched next year, will enable customers to track their environmental footprint in real time, and the new Positive Offset service formed in conjunction with the Swiss gold standard will enable customers to contribute to global carbon sink projects.
CMA CGM stated in a press release yesterday: “By mixing and matching the various solutions available in the ACT series, CMA CGM Group’s customers can make their cargo carbon neutral while helping to promote the energy transition in the shipping sector.”

In June, MSC, the world's second largest container shipping company, cooperated with carbon credit experts to provide customers with its own carbon neutral products.
Like MSC, South Pole, headquartered in Switzerland, helped create the MSC Carbon Neutrality Program, which supports projects that can bring measurable benefits commensurate with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
