As the Brazilian government receives more manufacturers' requests for dumping investigation in 2020, it is expected that the number of new anti-dumping cases will increase in 2021. According to the Ministry of economy of Brazil, 27 applications for dumping investigation were received in 2020, compared with 8 in 2019.

Since 2016, the number of anti-dumping cases in Brazil has decreased, mainly due to the decrease of manufacturers' application for investigation. CNI said that the reduction in applications may be related to Brazil's more rigid trade remedy procedures, such as excessive information required by the government and the higher cost of applying for anti-dumping, which make manufacturers feel frustrated.

Over the years, Brazil has unilaterally weakened its trade defense system, increasing anti-dumping measures by 25% on average in the world in the past 10 years, but Brazil has reduced anti-dumping measures by 54%.
